About Me

Ralph B. Beach

An indigenous Bostonian born and raised in Roxbury, is a seasoned professional artist with a career spanning 30 plus years. His artistic journey has been marked by a profound commitment to using art as a means of expression, healing, and empowerment, particularly among children.

Having worked extensively with children of all ages, Ralph demonstrated his dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals. During his time at the Sickle Cell Anemia Center at Boston Medical Center, he pioneered an art program aimed at helping teenagers affected by the disease express their thoughts and experiences.

The success of this program earned recognition, with a feature on New England News Station Boston Channel 7 WHDH-TV. Ralph's artistic contributions extend beyond personal projects. Notably, he designed the logo for the Gun Buy Back Program at the Orchard Park Community Center in Roxbury, Massachusetts.

At the Family Development Center, a therapeutic daycare center, Ralph not only created the center's logo but also developed an art curriculum tailored to assist toddlers in expressing and coping with the trauma they faced. Since his inaugural exhibit in 1994, titled "A Celebration of Everyday People," Ralph has actively utilized community resources such as the Dudley Library for numerous exhibits.

His role as an Artist-in-Residence for the Newton Public Schools involved teaching portrait drawing to students in grades 4 through 6. Additionally, Ralph has shared his expertise by teaching painting to seniors in Boston,

Watertown, and Newton, Massachusetts. He has served as an artist-in-residence at AAMARP (African American Master Artists-in-Residency Program) at Northeastern University, Ralph held a significant role under the African American Studies department. Simultaneously, he served as the Art Director of the Yawkey Boys and Girls Club of Roxbury, where he was responsible for developing the art curriculum for 350 members aged 6-18. Ralph B. Beach's passion extends beyond artistry; he is a child advocate and teacher with over 25 years of experience.

His expertise lies in working with abused children and those at risk of abuse.  Ralph is a published author, sharing strategies for working with this vulnerable demographic. His focus on art therapy instruction and coordination of strategies reflects his commitment to creating impactful art programming for children and middle school students facing critical decision-making stages. Ralph's multifaceted career showcases his dedication to using art as a transformative tool for positive change in individuals' lives.
